About the Training

A 50-Hour Yin Yoga Course That Brings You Back to Yourself

Here at Jeevatman Yogshala in Rishikesh, this 50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training is more than a training— it's a space that beckons you to come back home to yourself.

Over 6 days, you will move from stillness to breath to awareness and to understanding. You will not just learn how to practice Yin Yoga, but also how to experience it in your body, your mind, and your energy.

This is for those who are ready to transition from practicing yoga to experiencing yoga.

The Practice

Why Yin Yoga Feels Different (And Why You Might Need It)

Most yoga invites you to move. Yin Yoga asks you to stay.

The poses are held for an extended period of time – even up to 3, 5 and 7 minutes not to stretch any further but to sink in, in a new way…Into the deep tissues. Into the breath. Into patterns you might otherwise unconsciously avoid.

And there, in that stillness, something true emerges. You might notice:

01

The way your mind fights against discomfort…

02

The feelings held in your body…

03

The subtle breath shifts…

Yin Yoga targets the fascia, ligaments, joints and energy channels of the body, thus complementing styles like Ashtanga and Hatha wonderfully.

More than that, Yin Yoga targets your inner being — your relationship with yourself.

The Sacred Setting

Why Do This Yin Yoga Course In Rishikesh?

Rishikesh is not just a destination but a whole experience in itself.

It is considered as the Yoga Capital of the world for a reason, this sacred town has a different kind of energy which invites you in.

The Ganga speaks.
The mountains listen.
And life here is simple.

When yin yoga meets the essence of Rishikesh, things tend to happen more easily and spontaneously.

In Jeevatman Yogshala, we make sure this experience remains raw, real, deeply authentic and not the kind of commercialised and overwhelming set-up.

Going Deeper

Inside Each Module

Module 01

Yin Yoga Asana

Learning To Stay

Yin asanas are not about flexibility, they are about honesty.

You will work on:

  • Hip openers (where the majority of emotional stress resides)
  • Spinal work (for better energy flow and support)
  • Forward folds, backbends and gentle twists
  • Use of props to enable support and not strain your body

You will learn:

  • The difference between good sensations and harmful pain
  • How to stay present during long holds
  • How to adjust postures so that they fit real bodies.

Because every body is different. And Yin Yoga respects that.

Module 02

Functional Anatomy

Where most yoga teacher training courses bore students by being extra technical or too vague. We do neither.

Our anatomy modules are simplified, actionable, and focused.

You'll learn:

  • Why some people can't, shouldn't or are simply not capable of going 'deeper.'
  • How skeletal structure varies from person to person – and therefore universal alignment is a myth.
  • Fascia, ligaments, connective tissue (the true heart of yin yoga).
  • Compression v/s stretch.
  • Safe practice v/s overdoing.

This will definitely transform the way you see and feel about yoga.

Module 03

Pranayama

The Subtle Power of Breath

When you practice Yin Yoga, your breath is your anchor. It's not about forcing or controlling… but about awareness, gentleness, and deepening your breath.

In this practice you'll explore:

  • Techniques for calming pranayama
  • Ways to regulate your nervous system with breath
  • How to stay with your breath during discomfort
  • The connection between breath and fascia

With practice, your breath starts settling and so does your mind.

Module 04

Meditation

A Wholesome Experience

For most people, meditation is about ceasing your thoughts. It's not. It's about learning to get comfortable with whatever arises rather than reacting.

Meditation is integrated into every part of this course. You'll learn about:

  • Body based awareness practices
  • Stillness meditation
  • Chakra based awareness
  • Sound & silence practices
  • How to gently guide beginners

There is no pressure and no need to perform—just a gentle space to rest in stillness.

Module 05

Philosophy

Turning Wisdom into Action

Yin Yoga is deeply grounded in Taoist Philosophy and the vast wisdom traditions of Yoga. We don't teach philosophy as something abstract but we make it interesting and relatable.

You will understand:

  • Yin & Yang beyond labels
  • How effort can harmonize with surrender
  • Acceptance in action
  • The Subtle Energy Body (nadis & prana flow)
  • The Power of Slowdown

This is philosophy that comes to life.

Module 06

Learning to Teach Yin

If You Feel Drawn

Teaching Yin Yoga is fundamentally different from teaching a dynamic form of yoga. It's less about telling people what to do and more about creating space.

You will learn:

  • How to craft and structure a balanced Yin Yoga sequence.
  • How to use fewer but meaningful words while teaching
  • The art and power of silence in teaching
  • Vocal delivery, pacing and presence
  • Guiding students without over-correcting them

You do not have to be anyone but yourself to be a skilled Yin Yoga teacher. You just need to become much more intimately acquainted with yourself.

The Inner Work

The Quiet Side of Yin

When we stop the frantic movement of the body, then things begin to surface. Usually not in one huge outburst – it may simply start off with a small feeling of irritation, a wave of restlessness or even an old emotion you haven't thought about for years.

What most of us do

Distract ourselves – go and do something to chase away that feeling.

What happens in Yin

You simply stay with it.

That is when the change will start to occur, not because you fix or alter something; it's merely because you learn:

To sit with discomfort without needing to change it.

To watch emotions rise up without letting them pull you under.

To gently loosen where you once held on so tight.

When we let go of the battle – it doesn't make us feel so "stuck," the feeling becomes fluid – and that is the moment when the release finally happens. Of course, along with all that you begin to heal.

Is This For You?

Who This Yin Yoga Course Is For

Yoga is more than sweat and effort. If you are searching for a way to slow down and tune into your body, you are in the right place.

01

You long for stillness.

You feel naturally drawn to quiet, mindful practices rather than high-intensity workouts.

02

You're tired of "pushing"

The idea of "no pain, no gain" feels exhausting and you desire to work with your body rather than against it.

03

You're looking for more than a "workout"

You crave the opportunity to go deeper within and explore the subtle side of yoga.

04

You wish to expand your teachings as a yoga teacher

You are looking for gentle, effective ways to support your students.

05

Life feels heavy

You are dealing with stress, burnout, or emotional overwhelm.

06

You simply want to reconnect with yourself

You need a chance to exhale, be in the present, and feel who you are underneath it all.

No flexibility required

You don't need to be able to touch your toes; we're here to feel, not to perform. It's all about the feeling in your own body, not the aesthetic or the outcome.

No experience needed

Whether you've practiced for years or never stepped on a mat, you are warmly invited.

Come as you are

The only thing you need is a willingness to be here.

Your Transformation

What You Will Walk Away With

Over these six days, we'll explore much more than just poses. You'll walk away from this training with a set of skills and inner awareness to cultivate this practice for yourself – wherever life takes you.

01
Have a firm understanding of the philosophy & practical application of Yin yoga.
02
Have the ability to confidently lead others in a safe and supported Yin yoga practice.
03
Discover an even deeper connection with your body and learn to respect its boundaries.
04
Access simple but effective tools to regulate your emotions and soothe the mind.
05
Portable practice for your own use.

Most important takeaway: You will not just leave with a certificate or notes. You will leave with a new relationship with stillness. You'll learn that being quiet isn't just "doing nothing"—it's a powerful way to recharge and find clarity.
